Paradise 4x4 trail is a great “little trail” on our doorsteps in Wildnerness.
On this particular trip the FWDCSA were joined by a number of visitors and 4x4 enthusiasts wanting to do some legal sand dune driving.

The Vale Beaufort West 23-27 April 2010


TWO LONE RANGERS ON THEIR WAY TO THE VALE BEAUFORT WEST

Compared to Bertram’s colourful Toyota my black Ford looks pale.  On arrival at the Vale we decided on the Green/ Blue route with a difficult factor of 2 depending on the direction that you head into. The first encounter with animals was a beautiful Black Springbok close to one of the camps and on our way back from the 4 x 4 trek more Black Ear Jackal than you can imagine.

"op Die Plaas" Seweweekspoort 2-5 April 2010


It was to club standards a well attendant affair with all the regulars and new members – Louis and Yvonne , Alan and Merl.
The campsite is well laid out with ample Bluegum trees for shade. The ablution blocks are fairly new and the 3 showers and 3 toilets for male and female seem to be enough to clean off the hardiest 4 x 4 patron . The steaming donkey that provided the warm water is a story for later.

Kouga Wilderness 29-31 January 2010


Friday night was spent around the fire as per usual, with new faces and introductions soon taken care of. Most of us decided on an early night, probably secretly thanked by our new chairman and son who could have been kept awake   
into the early hours if a party had taken place  in  the lapa.

Zebraskop - Nov 09


We arrived Friday evening after a bit of confusion about where to go as the turn-off was called “Paardebont” and not “Paardkop” as we were told, but other than that it was quite easy to find. As we got to our camping spot which we could see across the hills from the farmhouse, we were literally blown away. The wind had picked up and it was howling.  It was a bit tricky putting up the tent while trying to hold onto it for dear life and also in the process not become a flying kite.
